Why NET?

NET – Nation Eligibility Test. A person who has successfully completed his Post Graduation is eligible to take part in the NET exam.

The candidate, who had cleared UGC-NET Exam, becomes eligible for the post of lecturer in the respective subject in which he had pursued his master degree.


NET Eligibility
  • One should possess a PG degree and you can devise UGC NET exam solely on the segment in which you have accomplished PG.
  • One should acquire 55% marks in PG examination to be eligible for NET. SC/ST candidates should acquire only 50% marks. OBC candidates must acquire 55% itself.
  • One can attend the UGC NET exam even though you are a last year student for PG. One needs to submit their actual PG mark list only within 1 year of passing the UGC exam.


NET Age Limit

There is no age limit for writing NET exam but 28 years is the age limit for UGC JRF exam.

The National Eligibility Test is conducted in the month of June and December, every year.
